Spend 5 days diving the spectacular colourful reefs of the Eastern Cape and interacting with marine animals of this area including whales, dolphins, seals, sharks & penguins.
Combined with adventure activities such as hiking, canopy tree top tours, a stop at the highest Bridge Bungy Jump and game viewing at Addo National park.
Arrive in Nelson Mandela Bay (the Friendly City), known for its unique and rich marine biodiversity, malaria free big 5 game viewing, long stretches of golden beaches and cultural heritage. The road will lead past the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma Mountain ranges along the Garden Route to popular Plettenberg Bay, home to a colony of Cape Fur Seals.

What’s Not Included
Arrive in Port Elizabeth and transfer to hotel. Dinner in the evening will be at a local restaurant.
Spend 4 days diving numerous spectacular dive sites in and around Nelson Mandela Bay. The boat (8m, RIB) launches from the beach within walking distance of the hotel, which is ideally situated on the beachfront. There will be a visit St. Croix Island to view the colony of African Penguins with possible sightings of whales, dolphins, sea birds etc.)
The afternoons are spent at leisure, enjoying the beachfront or taking part in optional activities e.g. beach hike, cultural township tours, further game viewing, additional diving, kayaking, shopping etc.
Transfer to Addo Elephant Park for a morning game drive and lunch in the park. The afternoon will be spent at Schotia Game Reserve doing an afternoon game drive and in the evening you will enjoy a buffet dinner around an African camp fire before transferring back to the hotel.
Check out of hotel after breakfast for a day drive to Plettenberg Bay via Tsitsikamma National Park, where you will do the Canopy Tree Top tour – the unforgettable adventure of “zip lining” from one platform to another through the magnificent tree tops of the Yellowwood forest. After lunch at Tsitiskamma National Park we will stop at the Bloukrans Bridge- the highest Bungy Bridge Jump in the World, where guests will have the option to Bungy. Check into the hotel in Plettenberg Bay late afternoon and dinner at a local restaurant.
After breakfast check in at dive centre for 2 dives (Seal and Reef Dive). The dive with the Seals is an amazing wildlife experience as they playfully interact with the divers. The reefs in this area are spectacular and boat trips are often interrupted with sightings of schools of dolphins and whales. The rest of the afternoon (time depending), will be spent doing a walk along Robberg Nature Reserve.
Check out of hotel and transfer back to Port Elizabeth for flight home. Alternatively transfer to Cape Town for extension
Optional Cape Town Extension:
A visit to South Africa would not be complete without a stop in Cape Town – the “Mother City”, known to many as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Spend a few days visiting numerous sights such as Cape Point, Boulders Beach, Seven Gill, Mako’s and Blues Shark Dives and the Great White Cage Diving in Gansbaai. There will be the opportunity to explore Cape Town and do further sightseeing such as Table Mountain, Tour to Robin Island, Wine Tour etc.
Cape Town Extension Itinerary:
Check out of hotel after breakfast and transfer to Cape Town. On arrival, overnight at the Breakwater Lodge at the Waterfront for 5 nights.
After an early breakfast, transfer to Gansbaai (approx. 2,5hr drive) for the Great White Shark Cage excursion. The road winds along the coast with spectacular views of False Bay and you will have the opportunity to stop off at Stony Point to the view the African Penguin colony. On arrival in Gansbaai a light meal and refreshments will be served, whereafter a White Shark Marine Biologist will give a short talk on the research being done and what you can expect on your excursion. The crew on the boat attract the sharks and keep them interested in the boat giving divers opportunities to view the sharks underwater while being protected in a steel cage. Light snacks and refreshments are provided on the boat.
Drive back to Cape Town in the late afternoon.
After breakfast depart for Simonstown where you will embark on an ocean safari to see the Pelagic Mako and Blue Sharks that are found in the the warm clear waters off Cape Point. It is a full morning excursion and on route you will have the special opportunity to view Cape Point from the ocean. This is an exhilarating dive being surrounded by blue sharks that interact and come close to divers. After returning to the harbour you will drive back to Cape Town in the late afternoon.
After breakfast depart for Simonstown for the Seven Gill and Seal Dives. Once kitted up, the boat will drop you off into the magical kelp forests close to the shore, at a depth of approximately 10m and it is here in the shallow water that one can find the Broadnose Seven Gill shark in their natural habitat. Other possible sightings included the shy sharks. The second dive will be close by at a seal colony where the seals are very playful and enjoy showing off their acrobatic skills in front of the divers. A visit to Cape Point National Park will precede the scenic drive via Chapman’s Peak to your hotel. This spectacular scenery, 200m drop off and high cliffs on either side will be a journey to remember.
This day there will be optional excursions which can include Table Mountain, wine tour, beach visit, shopping etc… Additional diving can also be arranged. Please Note: Due to changing weather conditions, some activities might change or need to be exchanged
Check out of hotel and transfer back to the Airport for your flight home.
