This diving safari covers the coastal section of the southern Red Sea offering stunning diving on a huge variety of reefs, walls as well as hard coral gardens teeming with fish life. The Sea Serpent liveaboards are known for their superb luxury, spacious cabins, friendly staff and first class service – absolutely 5 Star!

St Johns is a collection of small reefs offering some of the best diving in the Red Sea. Habili Ali will make even the most experienced of divers sigh with wonder when admiring the forests of huge fan corals and black corals that populate its walls. At its western end grey reef, silver-tip and big schools of hammerhead sharks may be observed. Have also a look out for the curious and impressive Hump-head parrot fish that are typical for the St Johns area.

Where is the Red Sea?

The Red Sea is a seawater inlet of the Indian Ocean, lying between Africa and Asia. The connection to the ocean is in the south through the Bab el Mandeb strait and the Gulf of Aden.

Deck / Cabin Specifications:

Accommodations are offered in 10 cabins with two single beds in each or a double bed in one of the 2 double cabins, all with en-suite facilities. The luxurious cabins are equipped with individually controlled air-conditioning, mini bar, bathrobes and towels, among other services.

Tour Itinerary:

  • Check in at Johannesburg International airport at 18h00 for your flight to Cairo departing at 21h45.

  • On arrival in Cairo at 05h35, stay in transit for your flight to Hurghada or Ghalib.  Met at Hurghada or Ghalib airport on arrival and transfer directly to Liveaboard in Ghalib Port.

    Check in to the Liveaboard i.e. unpack and complete all safety briefings – evening is spent in the Marina.

    The luxury Liveaboard offers 5* service, exceptional cuisine, a friendly crew and unlimited diving opportunities.

    Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily and tea, coffee, soft drinks, beers and bottled water are freely available on board.

  • Departure around 8-9 am, 2 check dives near Marsa Alam coast , 3rd dive or possible night dive in the area, sailing to St. John reefs at night

  • Diving at St. John: around 2 ½ days with 3-4 dives/day, including night dive/s.

    Possible dive sites: Small and Big Gota, Habilli Ali, Dangerous Reef, St. John Caves…

    Sailing to Fury Shoal overnight, staying in Wadi’l Gamal.

  • Diving in Fury Shoal: Malahi, Sha’ab Claudia, Sha’ab Maksur, Sataya/Dolphin Reef…  Sailing back towards Port Ghaleb..

  • Last 2 dives in the Marsa Alam area, Elphinstone possible, spending last night onboard

  • Check out of the Liveaboard after breakfast (by 10am).

  • Arrive in Johannesburg at approx. 07h10.
