Great news!!
South Africans no longer need to obtain a visa prior to entry into Egypt; visas can now be obtained on arrival and it’s Free! Since forever it has been required to obtain a visa prior to entry and over the years has become a tedious and lengthy process. Best of all, this new regulation has come just in time as we gear up to start our 2022 Red Sea season.
Yes, you can travel to Egypt if you have NOT been vaccinated!
If you are unvaccinated you will be required to produce a negative PCR test certificate, done within 72 hours prior to departure from South Africa. That’s it! No quarantine required!
For all vaccinated travellers you will only need to produce proof of vaccination.
National state of disaster lifted – what does this mean for SA travellers?
We will have to wait 30 days until the 4th of May for more clarity from the SA government but as it stands…travellers returning to South Africa will need to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test. For unvaccinated travellers, we will arrange the PCR test in Egypt on the liveaboard prior to departure.
