Thalassa Resort Manado

Bungalows
Surrounded by lush gardens viewed from a private terrace and a dedicated living area, the bungalows offer modern accommodation for 2 guests in either double (queen-size) or twin (2 separate beds) configuration with air-conditioning. A walk-in closet for your baggage, fridge/minibar and bathroom with shower.
Villa's
In a green, quiet corner, overlooking a fish pond with a shared patio, there are two luxurious air-conditioned villas. These are perfect for families or diving clubs. Each room can be booked individually for up to 3 guests per room (with extra bed). A spacious, shared living area is the ideal place to unwind.

Bungalows
With a wonderful view of the Lembeh Strait, The Sea View Bungalows offer top-notch accommodation with all the comforts of home. The rooms are available in Double (queen-sized) or Twin (2 separate beds) configuration, and with plenty of amenities such as air-conditioning, mosquito nets and a fridge/minibar. The doors open wide to a private terrace, a great place to enjoy Lembeh’s romantic sunsets.
Bunaken National Marine Park
The Wall Diving Capital
Overview:
World-famous for dramatic vertical walls and exceptional visibility, often exceeding 30–40 meters.
Topography:
Massive coral walls plummeting vertically from shallow reef flats to depths over 900–1,500 meters.
Marine Life:
Incredible density of green sea turtles (often dozens per dive), schools of pyramid butterflyfish, reef sharks, Napoleon wrasse, and occasionally dugongs or passing dolphins.
Key Sites:
- Lekuan: Massive walls, huge sponges, and resting turtles
- Sachiko's Point: Vivid colors and passing pelagics
- Manado Tua: Underwater plateau with large fish schools
Lembeh Strait
The Muck Diving Capital of the World
Overview:
A pilgrimage site for macro photographers seeking "weird and wonderful" creatures.
Topography:
Black volcanic sand and silt slopes. Visibility 5–15 meters, but calm, nutrient-rich waters harbor rare species.
Marine Life:
Best place to find hairy frogfish, mimic octopus, blue-ringed octopus, flamboyant cuttlefish, and endemic Banggai cardinalfish.
Key Sites:
- Nudi Falls: Wall and rubble haven for diverse nudibranch species
- Hairball: Classic muck site famous for frogfish and unusual cephalopods
- Jahir: Dark sand with frequent mimic octopus sightings
Bangka Island
The Soft Coral Paradise
Overview:
A "middle ground" with explosive colors and more varied topography than the other two sites.
Topography:
Mix of pinnacles, sea mounts, and sloping reefs adorned with kaleidoscopic soft corals covering every surface.
Marine Life:
Uniquely known for resident dugongs. Mix of macro (pygmy seahorses, candy crabs) and pelagics like schooling snappers, reef sharks, and tuna.
Key Sites:
- Sahaung: Iconic pinnacles with vibrant soft corals and schooling fish
- Batu Goso: Steep pinnacles excellent for sharks and larger species
- Peter's Sponge: Top spot for spotting dugongs on white sand slopes

Water temperatures in Manado remain warm year-round, ranging between 28°C to 30°C.

WHAT PAYMENT METHOD IS ACCEPTED
- Cash - Most major currencies such as US$, Euro, GBP & Rupiah are accepted at the resorts (US$ cash notes must be new print (2003 or newer) clean, crisp with no folds or marks)
- Credit cards - the visa machines on-site accept Visa & MasterCard only, payments are made in IDR & there is a charge of 3%.
- Bank transfers - this can be done as an advance payment into the resorts’ bank account in Indonesia.
DIVING
- Certification must be presented as well as a log book and dive insurance
- The nearest recompression chamber can be found in Manado City, North Sulawesi. Note that specialist flights that maintain the patient at sea level pressures are required. Such flights are extremely expensive and usually require upfront payment.
- Please be sure that your dive insurance is comprehensive & up to date before departing on your diving trip.
- Always follow safe diving practices at all times.
- Alcohol Consumption: If alcohol is consumed in between dives by an individual then they will be required to refrain from diving for the remainder of the day
- Flying After Diving: A minimum surface interval of 18 hours must be allowed prior to flying or going to altitude
